Action Areas Data Analysis Diversion

Background & Approach

Adams County in northeast Colorado is part of the Denver metropolitan area and is the state’s fifth-largest county. The county developed Justice Behavioral Health Intervention Data System (J-BIDS), an analytics query tool and dashboard that allows the county to monitor the progress of diverting people with behavioral health illnesses from police encounters and/or incarceration to community-based treatment. The dashboard allows authorized users to see and analyze an overview of key performance indicators in more detail over time. Adams County continues to engage with the Safety and Justice Challenge Network to rethink and redesign its criminal justice system so that it is more fair, just, and equitable for all.
